Motorsport in the USA

Motorsport activities in the USA range from all-out SCCA E-Prod competition to Autocross to Trackdays. Even if you only plan to drive your Caterham on the road, the allure of pushing the limits of yourself or the car in a safe, controlled and legal environment can be irresistible.

Almost all of our customers participate in a trackday or two each summer. For many this is a chance to challenge them selves, push the limits and have some fun. For others this becomes the driving focus of their Caterham experience. The trill and adrenaline of pushing faster and harder is hard to ignore. The ultimate thrill is taking the leap into racing. In the USA many sanctioning race organizations offer a class for the Caterham to compete.

For the past few years the SCCA E-Production class has provided competitive, close racing for Caterham owners. In 2005, Colorado based racer, Kim Knapp won the SCCA National Runoffs in his Caterham Seven.

In the years to come a "Motorsport Ladder" will be established in the USA, following the successful model used in the UK. The Caterham Motorsport Ladder offers an approachable, cost effective way to get involved in wheel to wheel racing and provides incremental levels for advancement. The program is specifically designed to allow racers to upgrade their car year-on-year as the progress up the ladder.
