• Caterham USA is pleased to announce the availability of the Caterham Seven CSR in the United States. US dealers are taking orders for the Seven CSR now and the first deliveries are expected in Spring 2006. Caterham USA Marketing Director Cody Story reports, "At this point, we've put many miles on the US-spec prototype and we are very pleased with the car and the new Cosworth 260-horsepower engine. Sevens have always been about high performance, and the new CSR takes Seven performance to a dramatically higher level." The new car features inboard adjustable front suspension and fully independent rear suspension, along with many other changes. See the March issue of Automobile and the February 20 issue of Autoweek; watch for more upcoming press articles on the CSR! Click here for CSR specifications and pricing.

  • Caterham USA has introduced a new US model lineup based on chassis specification. The live-axle Classic is no longer available; it will be replaced by a new Classic with specifications similar to the previous DeDion model. The Roadsport and Superlight models will continue to exist in the form of option packs to be added to the Classic. The larger-chassis SV continues as a separate model, to be joined shortly by the CSR, Caterham's newest and most sophisticated chassis to date. According to Caterham CEO Jonathan Nelson, "The new model lineup is significantly simpler, as each model is now identified by a unique chassis. This new system makes kit specification easier, and allows for the addition of the upcoming top-of-the-line Seven CSR in a straightforward manner." Click here for new specifications and pricing.

  • Caterham USA is happy to announce the appointment of a new Caterham dealer in Florida, Caterham South, owned and managed by Christopher Silvestri. According to Caterham USA CEO Jonathan Nelson, "We've been looking for a dealer for the Southeast for some time, but the right combination hadn't materialized until we spoke with Chris. He's a great enthusiast with lots of Seven experience and a great background in racing and race support. We're thrilled to have Caterham South on board." • Check out the article in the July 2004 issue of "Car & Driver": Caterham Seven with stock SVT motor sets the fastest lap time at BeaveRun in Pennsylvania, besting the new Elise, the Honda S2000, the Mazdaspeed Miata, and a Factory Five Cobra replica. Although the Seven beat the Elise by significant margins in track lap time, 0-60 time, 0-100 time, quarter mile, 70-0 braking (Car & Driver reports better braking only for Enzo and Carrera GT), and lane change speed, C&D editors scored the Seven lower in a variety of other more subjective areas, loosely grouped under what we call "The Effete Factor". Caterham owners continue to prefer winning at the track to cupholders, quiet exhausts, and extra weight.

  • "Best Track Cars" article in the June 2004 issue of "Automobile" magazine pits the Caterham Seven with a stock Focus SVT motor against the Viper SRT-10, Ferrari Challenge Stradale, 911 GT3, Noble M12 GTO-3R, Evo RS, S2000, Dodge SRT-4 and the new Lotus Elise at the spectacular Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The Seven wins outright with the fastest lap time, beating the neat but porky Elise, which came in 6th, by over 5 seconds a lap.
